Battle Hill Farm Forest Park Management Plan

Search in document library

Battle Hill has historic associations with Wellington’s establishment in the
1840’s and is a fine example of a traditional New Zealand pastoral farm.
Its purchase by the Regional Council in 1987 enables the development of
recreation as a major land use on the property alongside farming, forestry
and conservation, and the provision of public access to the recreational
and educational opportunities and experiences of a working farm.

This document provides the framework for the management and
development of Battle Hill for conservation, education, recreation, farming
and forestry. It includes aims, objectives and policies, and background
information.
